Kia Stonic Review | A Comprehensive Car Review by Wagonex
The Kia Stonic is a cleverly designed car. It fits into the small crossover category which means it has some SUV / 4x4 styling but also has the versatility and practicality of a compact hatchback.
If you like a car which fits into any of those categories, you’ll love the Stonic which is actually based on the Kia Rio hatchback. The Rio is one of our favourite cars so no surprise that we’ve taken to the Stonic.
We know that users of the Stonic will more than likely want a seriously economical car, so we’ve gone for the 99bhp 1.0 litre petrol engine model with a manual gearbox. You’ll get close to a hugely impressive 50mpg. And don’t be fooled into thinking that a 1.0 litre three cylinder engine might be a bit flat. It’s actually a really sweet spinning unit and makes the Stonic feel sporty. You might want to cover your ears when you rev that engine, it's got some wallop!
The ride also has a sporty feel to it and the handling is extremely agile, something you can't say often about SUVs, but this is perfect for narrow streets, and getting round supermarkets.
Every Stonic is equipped with the essentials such as air conditioning, rear parking sensors, DAB radio, front fog lights, alloys, cruise control and a seriously smart 8-inch colour display.
The Stonic is one of the top sellers in the Kia range. Folk love them because they tick so many boxes….comfy, roomy, good to drive, versatile, nicely equipped, looks good sitting on the drive and lastly, and most importantly it's awesome value for money!
