Subaru Forester Review | A Comprehensive Car Review by Wagonex
Subaru have been building SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) for longer than anyone else. They have a reputation for being tough, reliable and capable of scrambling across some seriously tricky terrain. Every model in the Subaru range comes with all-wheel drive.
And here we’ve got one of their latest models…the Subaru Forester which also has hybrid technology.
This is the newly launched version and any previous Forester drivers will immediately notice a rise in the standard of interior quality. Once they get onto the road they’ll also notice that this is the best-riding and handling Forester yet. It will still be your best friend when the road conditions are slippery or if you are doing some mild off-roading, but the biggest improvement is when the Forester is being used as a family holdall, taking everyone and their baggage on a holiday trip or going to the match with a car full of mates. It handles really well and is extremely refined. The 2.0 litre 150bhp petrol engine has a lovely note to it (It’s a ‘Boxer’ engine…they sound different…you can’t mistake them).
And the good news is that there’s no need to charge this hybrid because it does it on its own as you go along. Whenever you ease off approaching something like a roundabout or traffic lights, the battery will be charged. Clever huh? You can drive for up to 35 miles on battery power alone.
The Subaru Forester comes in XE trim which gives you sat nav, air con, leather upholstery, parking sensors, Bluetooth, DAB radio, smartphone connectivity, heated front seats, reversing camera, parking sensors and a stack of safety kits.
The Subaru Forester is something of a rarity in that it is a cross between an SUV and a family estate while providing genuine all-wheel driveability.
And, thanks to the hybrid system, you have good performance and economy.
Get prepared to go off-road with this Subaru Forester.
