Mitsubishi Barbarian Review | A Comprehensive Review by Wagonex
The Mitsubishi L200 is one of the World’s most popular and most successful pickups. It collects awards like confetti.
Mitsubishi has been clever when marketing their L200. They now offer a variety of L200 derivatives and body styles to suit farmers, mountain bikers, surfers, and anyone who wants something different.
Here at Wagonex we'll review the pick of the bunch for you…the L200 Barbarian.
The Barbarian sports a powerful 2.4 litre 150bhp diesel engine, and it sounds good. 0-60mph takes a shade over 10 seconds and you can expect around 38 mpg. Bearing in mind that this is a vehicle that will carry a tonne in the load area and haul seriously heavy trailers, these are impressive figures. Selectable 4-wheel drive means you can hit the rough stuff with confidence, making it really enjoyable to drive. The suspension is nicely controlled and allows for relaxed progress on motorways. The high driving position makes it easy to glide the Barbarian around town.
The L200 Barbarian also shows why many drivers, who’re bored with the increasingly anonymous design of cars, are moving into pickup trucks. They want something different. You’ll also find that kids love riding in the L200.
However, don’t assume that the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian pickup is going to be basic. There’s air conditioning, electric windows, DAB radio with MP3 capability, electrically powered and heated front seats, cruise control, interior mood lighting, Bi-Xenon headlamps, and leather upholstery. Not bad at all.
Overall, the Mitsubishi L200 is ideal for anyone who doesn’t want a run of the mill car or SUV. It’s different and thoroughly likeable. You also have the option of being able to carry everything AND the kitchen sink. It’s refined, good to drive, comfy, and we reckon it’s a handsome beast. It’s also terrific fun.
Fancy breaking the mould? This is a good place to start.
