Ford Transit Review | A Comprehensive Van Review by Wagonex
The Ford Transit is the go-to medium size van for numerous companies. It’s the van against which all others are measured. It’s incredibly popular. In fact, in the UK it ranks as Ford’s 3rd best seller behind the Fiesta and Focus.
And here at Wagonex we’ve got the very latest model.
We’ve gone for what is arguably the most popular model in the range which features a short wheelbase and low roofline. We’ve also gone up the trim range and plumped for the Limited specification which means you end up with a van that is getting close to being luxurious.
The power comes from the terrific 2.0 litre, 104bhp EcoBlue diesel engine driving the front wheels via a 6-speed manual box. You’ll get close to 40mpg and emissions are 187 g/kmCO2. The power steering is light but direct and still gives you plenty of ‘feel’ with the road. Overall, the Transit is really good to drive.
As for dimensions…payload is 1085kg and there’s room for 5.95 cubic metres which equates to three Europallets. Load height is 1406mm, width 1775mm and length is 2555mm.
We’ve gone for limited trim in our Transit which means you’ll get air conditioning, heated windscreen, powered windows, high-intensity headlights, DAB radio, really smart 8-inch colour touchscreen, heated driver’s seat with lumbar supporter and 8-way adjustment, cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. The powered folding exterior mirrors have an additional lens to help prevent blind spots. You also get three seats in the front.
The Ford Transit is rightly referred to as an icon of the van world. It’s no fluke that it’s so popular. When it comes to driver comfort and enjoyment, load capability, and economy, you should use the Ford Transit as the benchmark for what you need.
